Black Belt Education Program 2009 ModulesCSAT Bridgeport CleanupCSAT 7th grade students collected trash along Alabama River tributaries near Bridgeport Park in Wilcox County as part of 2009 National Public Lands Day. The module was supported by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Sierra Club Water Sentinels and Sierra Club Building Bridges to the Outdoors Program. The students learned the importance of not littering while removing hundreds of pounds of bagged trash. A bonus educational opportunity was finding a clutch of newly hatched snake eggs.
