Black Belt Education Program 2009 ModulesTrail Walk IIModule leaders directed the students on a trail walk to learn how to identify various trees and plants. Students also explored upland and lowland forest ecosystems to determine how vegetation varies between the two ecosystems. Discussions included how Native Americans and early settlers used common plants for medicine and food. Nature trails at the Lawler Timber Treasure Forest and Auburn University's Natural Resources Education Center were used during the field days.
